Job Overview:
The Community Mobilizer & logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position at Save the Children Vanuatu is a critical role aimed at supporting the effective implementation of the Helti Pikinini Helti Vanuatu Project. This dual role encompasses both community mobilization and logistics management, ensuring that project activities are executed efficiently and that all stakeholders, including community members, health facilities, and local authorities, are actively engaged in the project. The officer will focus on community engagement, capacity building, and coordination at the local level, which are essential for the successful delivery of project interventions aimed at reducing undernutrition and improving health outcomes for children aged 0-5 years. The role requires a proactive approach to mobilizing communities, building relationships, and coordinating logistics to facilitate project activities, training sessions, and community outreach efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Mobilizer & Logistics Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: Mobilizing and engaging communities in Shefa and Sanma to participate in project activities, consultations, and outreach efforts. Building and maintaining strong relationships with community leaders, schools, churches, health facilities, parents, caregivers, and local authorities. Supporting awareness and behavior-change activities related to child health, nutrition, and development. Coordinating logistics for trainings, workshops, meetings, and field visits, including managing transport, accommodation, and venue arrangements. Overseeing the distribution of project materials and resources to target communities. Assisting with procurement, inventory management, stock monitoring, and asset tracking in accordance with Save the Children policies. Collecting and reporting community feedback, beneficiary data, and project implementation progress. Preparing reports on activities, logistics, and distributions, as well as documenting success stories. Supporting monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities. Liaising with government departments, provincial authorities, local partners, and service providers. Representing the project in community and stakeholder engagements as required. Promoting child safeguarding, workplace safety, and compliance with Save the Children policies and Code of Conduct.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Community Mobilizer & Logistics Officer position must possess the following qualifications: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community mobilization, logistics, project implementation, or NGO programming. Experience working with international NGOs is preferred. Proven experience in coordinating workshops, meetings, and community engagement activities. Basic knowledge of procurement and logistics management processes. A valid driver’s license is required. A commitment to child safeguarding and maintaining safe, positive relationships with children and young people is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Certificate or Diploma in Community Development or a related field. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding community dynamics and effectively engaging with various stakeholders in the project.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, logistics, project implementation, or working within an NGO context.
