Job Overview:
The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme offers individuals the opportunity to engage in volunteer actions that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework. Volunteers will be assigned to fields relevant to FAO's mission and will report to an assigned supervisor. The programme aims to mobilize a broad base of volunteer services from citizens of FAO member countries to help combat hunger and improve food security. Volunteers will have the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that support better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, ensuring that no one is left behind. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are adaptable to an international multicultural environment and possess strong communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will perform tasks as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. Responsibilities may include assisting in research, supporting project implementation, engaging with local communities, and contributing to the development of strategies aimed at achieving food security and sustainable agricultural practices. Volunteers are expected to collaborate with FAO staff and other stakeholders, participate in training and capacity-building activities, and contribute to the overall mission of FAO by providing their skills and knowledge in relevant areas. The specific duties will vary depending on the needs of the organization and the volunteer's expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess a working knowledge of at least one FAO language, which includes Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Candidates should be nationals of FAO member countries and must be aged 18 or older. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt to an international multicultural environment and possess good communication skills. Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. FAO does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, including application, interview, or processing. Qualified female applicants, nationals of non- and under-represented member countries, and candidates from Low-Income Food-Deficit Countries (LIFDCs), Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Land-locked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are particularly encouraged to apply.
