Job Overview:

Volunteers will be assigned to relevant fields that align with FAO's mission and will report to an assigned supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will perform various tasks as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. Responsibilities may include assisting in research, data collection, and analysis related to food security and agricultural practices. Volunteers may also support outreach efforts, engage with local communities, and help implement projects aimed at improving food systems. The specific duties will depend on the needs of the FAO office and the volunteer's skills and interests.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess a working knowledge of at least one FAO language, which includes Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Candidates should be nationals of FAO member countries and must be at least 18 years old. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate adaptability to an international multicultural environment and possess good communication skills.

Educational Background:
A minimum of secondary school education is required for this position. Higher education or specialized training in fields related to agriculture, food security, or international development may be beneficial but is not mandatory.

Experience:
Relevant working or research experience in fields related to FAO's mission is preferred. This could include experience in agriculture, food security, nutrition, or related areas. However, the program is also open to individuals who are new to the field and are eager to learn and contribute.

Languages:
A working knowledge of at least one FAO language is mandatory. Knowledge of a second FAO language is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application.
