Job Overview:
The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme offers individuals the opportunity to contribute to the organization's mission by engaging in volunteer actions that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework. Volunteers will be assigned to tasks relevant to FAO's mission and will report to an assigned supervisor. The programme aims to mobilize a broad base of volunteer services to tackle issues related to hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity. Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will perform functions as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. This may include conducting research, assisting in project implementation, participating in community outreach, and supporting various initiatives aimed at improving food security and agricultural practices. Volunteers are expected to collaborate with other team members, contribute to discussions, and share knowledge and insights that can enhance FAO's efforts in achieving its goals. They will also be involved in reporting on their activities and outcomes, ensuring that their contributions are aligned with FAO's strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education and possess a working knowledge of at least one FAO language, which includes Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Candidates should be nationals of FAO member countries and must be aged 18 or older. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt to an international multicultural environment and possess good communication skills. Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. While specific professional experience is not required, relevant working or research experience in fields related to FAO's mission is advantageous. Experience in multicultural environments or previous volunteer work can enhance a candidate's application.

Languages:
A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is mandatory. Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered beneficial and may enhance a candidate's ability to contribute effectively to the organization.
