Job Overview:
The internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at FAO is designed to attract talented young individuals who are motivated to share their innovative ideas and academic experiences in the fields related to FAO's work. The programme provides a unique opportunity for interns to supplement their academic knowledge with practical work assignments. Interns will engage in activities that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO's Strategic Framework, which aims to transform agri-food systems for better production, nutrition, environment, and life quality. Interns will report to assigned supervisors and will be involved in various fields of work based on their profiles and the organization's needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will perform tasks as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office. This may include conducting research, assisting in project implementation, participating in meetings, and contributing to reports and presentations. Interns are expected to collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and engage in learning opportunities that enhance their understanding of FAO's mission and operations. They will also be involved in activities that support the organization's goals and objectives, contributing to the overall success of FAO's initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree programme at an accredited institution. They should specialize in a field relevant to FAO's mission. A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required, and knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset. Candidates must be nationals of FAO member countries and should be aged between 21 and 3
Educational Background:
Candidates should have academic qualifications from a recognized institution, specifically in fields related to FAO's work. The organization only considers qualifications from institutions listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), which is maintained by the International Association of Universities and UNESCO. This ensures that the educational background of candidates meets international standards.
Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate relevant academic studies and a strong motivation to engage in FAO's work. Previous internships or volunteer experiences in related fields may be beneficial but are not required. Languages:
