Job Overview:
The BSA Programme Assistant position at WFP Djibouti is crucial for supporting the implementation of various programs aimed at assisting the most vulnerable populations in the region. The role involves working closely with the Head of Programmes to coordinate and support all program activities, ensuring the delivery of quality and accurate data and reports. The assistant will be responsible for performing specialized and standardized processes within the technical area of work, which includes supporting program policies and guidelines. The BSA Programme Assistant will also engage in field visits to monitor program implementation and gather data, contributing to the overall effectiveness of WFP's initiatives in Djibouti.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will have a range of responsibilities, including:
  • Performing specialized and standardized processes within the specific technical area of work, supporting alignment with wider program policies and guidelines across various regions in Djibouti.
  • Providing project management and general office support, adhering to established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Compiling data and supporting the analysis and preparation of reports related to food assistance needs, resource utilization, program status, and performance to aid operational decision-making.
  • Delivering business support services to program operations by accurately processing and recording information and transactions in corporate systems such as WINGS, COMET, ITS, and WeTravel. This includes preparing Travel Authorizations, initiating and following up on administrative and financial actions, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and service delivery standards.
  • Maintaining records and ensuring the quality assurance of information, contributing to the overall efficiency of program operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school qualification along with a post-secondary school certificate related to the functional area. Additionally, a minimum of four years of relevant work experience is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proactive attitude, strong planning skills, and the ability to prioritize competing activities effectively. Experience working with technical teams to implement development or humanitarian projects is essential, as is experience in liaising with government authorities for program implementation. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders and external partners.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a secondary school qualification complemented by a post-secondary school certificate relevant to the functional area of work. Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant work experience. Languages:
