Job Overview:
The Communications & Multimedia Production Intern will play a crucial role in supporting WWF-Cambodia's communications and advocacy efforts. This position is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about conservation, energy, and climate change. The intern will be based in Phnom Penh and will have opportunities to travel to priority landscapes in Mondulkiri and Kratie provinces. The primary focus will be on gathering information, capturing field stories, and developing engaging multimedia content that highlights WWF-Cambodia's conservation work and impact. The intern will work closely with the Head of Communications, Advocacy, and Knowledge Management, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting biodiversity and environmental sustainability through effective communication strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's key responsibilities will include capturing high-quality photos and video footage from various field activities, community engagement initiatives, wildlife conservation efforts, events, and workshops. They will support the production of short videos, reels, and interviews, including tasks such as footage selection, basic editing, adding subtitles, music, graphics, and formatting for different digital platforms. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for selecting, editing, captioning, and organizing photographs for use in social media, websites, publications, and donor communications. They will also develop engaging multimedia content for WWF-Cambodia's communications channels, including photo stories, visual interviews, and graphics that showcase the organization's achievements and initiatives. The intern will provide communications support for campaigns, media activities, meetings, and organizational events, and will perform other multimedia production tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be fresh graduates or current students in journalism, media, or communications. They should possess proven storytelling skills, including news and feature writing, with a strong passion for communicating about biodiversity and environmental issues. Knowledge of relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe software (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator), is essential. The ideal candidate should be an active, fast learner with a high level of commitment, willing to take initiative and face challenges. Good interpersonal and communication skills, along with a positive attitude, are also required.
Educational Background:
A degree or ongoing studies in journalism, media, communications, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates should have a strong foundation in storytelling and media production, with an emphasis on environmental topics.
Experience:
This position is aimed at recent graduates or students, so prior professional experience is not mandatory. However, any relevant internships or volunteer work in communications, media production, or environmental advocacy will be considered an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Khmer or other local languages would be advantageous but is not required.
Additional Notes:
The internship is for a period of 6 months, from October 2026 to March 2027, with the possibility of extension. The position is based in Phnom Penh, with travel required to various project sites.
