Job Overview:
The selected candidate will provide detailed information, administrative support, and accounting assistance efficiently to help the Finance Department execute processes and deliver high-quality services necessary to support programs designed to serve the poor and vulnerable. As part of an experienced finance team, the individual will provide high-quality support in their role, applying clearly defined processes, procedures, and service standards in the preparation of accounting and financial reports. The role is crucial in ensuring that financial operations run smoothly, contributing to the overall mission of CRS to assist those in need. The Asistente Contable will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting the financial integrity of the organization’s operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Contable will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: preparing, reviewing, and managing the financial documentation required for processing payments, bank transfers, checks, and other financial transactions while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls. The individual will provide administrative and operational support to the Finance Department by preparing, digitizing, organizing, safeguarding, and controlling financial documentation related to their responsibilities. They will maintain updated and organized physical and electronic files of accounting and financial documentation, ensuring integrity, availability, and traceability according to institutional policies. The role involves reviewing, compiling, and validating supporting documentation for settlements, reimbursements, and expenses, following up with colleagues, partners, suppliers, and other involved parties to ensure the receipt of required documentation. The Asistente Contable will also register financial transactions in authorized institutional systems, verifying the accuracy and completeness of information according to established approval procedures. Additionally, they will prepare and present periodic financial reports for assigned projects, including budget execution analysis, financial projections, expense monitoring, and budget variances, providing timely information for decision-making. The individual will support the Programs area in formulating, monitoring, and updating Annual Operational Plans (POA) and assist in monthly and annual financial closing processes, account reconciliations, and other activities aimed at ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information. Furthermore, they will guarantee the custody, confidentiality, and proper safeguarding of documents, records, and financial evidence in compliance with institutional policies, audit requirements, and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting or a final-year student/recent graduate in Public Accounting, with solid knowledge in financial accounting, internal control, and analysis of accounting information. A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in similar accounting or financial positions is required, with knowledge and application of standard accounting practices. Experience in international organizations, cooperation agencies, or non-profit institutions will be considered an advantage. The candidate should have experience in processing, reviewing, and controlling financial documentation, including accounting evidence, settlements, reimbursements, reconciliations, financial records, and supporting documentation for audits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, is essential, with the ability to prepare reports, conduct financial information analysis, and manage databases. Experience with pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis tools will be valued. Practical experience in entering, validating, and updating information in electronic forms, online databases, and institutional financial systems is also necessary. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in handling financial information.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting or be a final-year student or recent graduate in the same field. A strong foundation in financial accounting principles, internal controls, and the ability to analyze accounting information is essential for success in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial roles. Candidates with experience in international organizations, cooperation agencies, or non-profit institutions will have an advantage. The role demands familiarity with financial documentation processing, review, and control, as well as experience in handling accounting evidence and supporting documentation for audits.

Languages:
Intermediate English is required, with the ability to understand documentation, procedures, systems, and communications related to financial and administrative processes. Proficiency in Spanish is essential, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization.
