Job Overview:
The Logistics Technical Officer position at NRC is designed to provide technical supervision and support for the logistics functions within the organization. The role involves ensuring the effective implementation of logistics operations, adhering to NRC policies, and maintaining compliance with donor requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Technical Officer will have a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing technical support for the management of supply and logistics needs for operations in the Moldova Country Office; ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations for all logistics activities; processing procurement requests and maintaining systematic records; supervising logistics officers in their tasks related to procurement, fleet management, assets, and stock; conducting market assessments and updating the Country Vendor database; and assisting in asset and stock management activities as needed. The officer will also be responsible for promoting anti-corruption and transparency in all logistics processes and ensuring adherence to safeguarding standards.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Logistics Technical Officer position must possess a strong set of qualifications, including experience working in a support function within a humanitarian or recovery context, documented results related to logistics responsibilities, and fluency in English. Additionally, candidates should have context-related skills and knowledge, including fluency in Romanian, and previous experience working in logistics with an international non-governmental organization (INGO). The ability to coordinate with multiple departments and proactively solve problems is essential, as is the capacity to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is required for this position, ideally with at least two years of experience in logistics. Candidates should have a solid understanding of logistics principles and practices, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in a complex and volatile context.
Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in logistics, preferably within a humanitarian or recovery setting. Experience in coordinating logistics activities and working with multiple departments is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to manage logistics processes effectively and efficiently.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Additionally, candidates must be fluent in Romanian, with the ability to read, write, and speak the language proficiently. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes:
This position is open to candidates who have the legal right to work in Moldova, and NRC is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships.
