Job Overview:
The Human Resources Associate role at WFP is crucial for delivering specialized HR operational support to the Zimbabwe Country Office. This position requires a proactive approach and sound judgment to independently handle both routine and complex HR matters. The associate will coordinate with various stakeholders and provide support to junior colleagues as needed. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of HR services, which includes payroll administration, maintaining HR systems, ensuring data quality, and supporting compliance with WFP policies and procedures. The associate will be responsible for providing reliable payroll and workforce information to facilitate evidence-based management decisions, thereby contributing to the operational continuity of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Associate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing high-quality support on complex HR queries and ensuring follow-up actions are taken; coordinating local payroll inputs and validating personnel actions that impact payroll, such as appointments, contract changes, and leave; reviewing payroll outputs for discrepancies and coordinating corrective actions; processing and validating employee and organizational transactions in WFP HR systems; monitoring system workflows and providing guidance on data validation; maintaining accurate staffing records and reconciling approved structures with HR and finance information; compiling and analyzing workforce data; developing and maintaining HR dashboards and management reports; preparing periodic HR reports and maintaining organized records; identifying process gaps and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency; and supporting audits and compliance reviews.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, payroll, HR information systems, or workforce data management. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and experience with HR information systems are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools, with the ability to translate data into clear management information. The ability to manage deadlines, resolve anomalies, and communicate technical information effectively is also required.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in relevant fields such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Statistics is highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as human resources, payroll, HR information systems, workforce data management, reporting, and analytics. Candidates should have experience in payroll validation, reconciliation, and employee data administration, demonstrating a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Familiarity with HR information systems and experience in preparing standard operating procedures and supporting audits is also desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of the local language used at the duty station may be advantageous and is considered a plus.
