Job Overview:
The Project Facilitation Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing the engagement of host enterprises and their capacity to provide safe, inclusive, and quality internship and employment opportunities for young women and disadvantaged youth. This position involves building partnerships with enterprises, supporting the placement of youth in these enterprises, monitoring their progress, and connecting businesses with relevant development and financial services. The officer will be expected to understand the local labor market needs and the principles of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and safeguarding, ensuring that the initiatives are aligned with the community's needs and the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise engagement, youth employment, and development programs, and will be adept at facilitating stakeholder coordination and project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strengthen partnerships with host enterprises to create internship and employment pathways for youth.
  • Support the placement of young women and disadvantaged youth in various enterprises.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of placements and provide feedback to stakeholders.
  • Connect businesses with relevant development and financial services to enhance their capacity.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for enterprises on best practices for youth employment.
  • Collaborate with government bodies, communities, and other partners to promote inclusive employment practices.
  • Conduct research and analysis on labor market trends to inform project strategies.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on project activities and outcomes for stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the needs of young women and disadvantaged youth in employment discussions.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in partnership building, facilitation, and stakeholder coordination. They should have a solid understanding of business development, financial linkages, and labor market needs. Experience in youth employment, internships, and MSME support is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate resilience and adaptability in new situations, as well as the ability to facilitate positive change and build sustainable working relationships.

Educational Background:
A degree in social sciences, business administration, development studies, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications or training in project management, youth development, or enterprise engagement will be an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in enterprise engagement, youth employment, or development programs. Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government, businesses, and community organizations, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Ethiopia would be an advantage, as it would facilitate better communication with local communities and stakeholders.
