Job Overview:
The State Program Officer (SPO) for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) will play a crucial role in the operational coordination of WJCF's T1D program in Madhya Pradesh. This position is designed for a detail-oriented professional with strong coordination skills and a proven track record in operations and stakeholder management. The SPO will be responsible for the operationalization of approximately 35 new T1D clinics, ensuring that the program meets its goals of improving access to quality T1D care. The role involves routine follow-up with people living with T1D, tracking the progress of the Mission Madhuhari initiative, and managing operational trackers to address implementation issues promptly. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and coordinate effectively across cross-functional teams, making a significant impact on public health outcomes in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Program Implementation and Operational Coordination: Provide day-to-day operational supervision and support to District Program Coordinators, develop joint workplans aligned with state-level priorities, and lead regular reviews to track implementation progress. Drive the establishment and functioning of T1D clinics, monitor the availability of essential supplies, and oversee the enrolment and follow-up processes for people living with T1D. Coordinate training sessions for clinic teams and support awareness activities in schools and communities.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Quality Assurance: Contribute to performance management and quality improvement through regular feedback and assessments. Prepare progress dashboards and represent WJCF in state and divisional review meetings.
  • Coordination, Risk Management, and Administrative Support: Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, identify operational challenges, and support planning and execution of activity budgets and logistics. Document best practices and keep activities aligned with implementation plans while taking on additional workstreams as needed.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, healthcare management, social sciences, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's in Public Health (MPH) or Healthcare Administration. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in public health programs, healthcare operations, and program coordination, including direct experience with government health departments and public health reporting systems. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines and strong communication skills for engaging with government officials and partner agencies are essential. Hands-on experience with programmatic monitoring and evaluation is preferred, along with proficiency in MS Office and data management.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public health, social work, healthcare management, or social sciences. A Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or Healthcare Administration is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in public health programs, healthcare operations, and program coordination. Candidates should have experience supervising district or program coordinators and health facility staff, as well as managing multiple program priorities across varied geographies. Direct experience working with National Health Mission (NHM) and state health department structures is essential, along with a proven ability to track key indicators and maintain operational reports.

Languages:
Fluency in Hindi and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage but is not required.
