Job Overview:

The Country Director will lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability, while also ensuring financial sustainability and operational excellence. The position is exclusively open to Vietnamese nationals, reflecting CARE's commitment to localization and community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Country Director, the individual will be tasked with several key responsibilities:
  • Setting the Vision & Driving Transformation: Lead the development and implementation of CARE Vietnam’s multi-year strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and adapting to changes in the external environment.
  • Building Influence & Unlocking New Partnerships: Serve as the principal ambassador for CARE Vietnam, establishing and nurturing high-level relationships with government entities, donors, civil society, and the private sector to enhance the organization’s influence and funding opportunities.
  • Leading People to Perform & Thrive: Inspire and manage a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Protecting Excellence, Sustainability & Trust: Oversee the organization’s operational and financial integrity, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective risk management.
  • Turning Innovation into Impact: Champion evidence-based programs that are scalable and focused on the needs of women and marginalized communities, leveraging technology and partnerships to enhance program delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Country Director position must possess a robust set of qualifications, including:
  • Proven leadership experience in a senior management role within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
