Job Overview:
The Senior Operations Associate position at UNICEF Madagascar is crucial for the effective coordination and management of the operational functions of the newly opening office in Mahajanga. This role involves delivering timely and effective administrative support services, managing financial services, and overseeing funds management throughout various stages including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The position also entails budget management, facilitating the implementation and monitoring of HACT activities, and ensuring partnership coordination and collaboration. Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in administration, operations, financial management, office administration, budgeting, procurement, logistics, travel management, vendor management, grants management, compliance, supply, or another relevant field. Strong operational coordination, organizational skills, partnership management, invoice processing, monitoring and evaluation, asset management, and risk management skills are essential. Fluency in French is required, and knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is considered an asset. University-level courses in administration, finance, or related fields are also advantageous.
Educational Background:
Completion of Secondary Education is required for this position. Additional qualifications such as university-level courses in administration, finance, or any other related field relevant to the job are considered an asset. This educational background will support the candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities effectively.
Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of relevant work experience in various operational roles, including administration, financial management, and logistics. Experience in developing country contexts, particularly in fragile settings and humanitarian contexts, is highly desirable. Candidates with experience providing HACT support will have an advantage in this role.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered a valuable asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse operational environment of UNICEF.

This position is full-time and is based in Mahajanga, Madagascar. - Facilitate the effective implementation and monitoring of HACT activities.
- Coordinate partnerships and collaboration efforts to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Engage in capacity development and learning initiatives for partners.
- Ensure compliance with UNICEF's operational policies and procedures.
- Support logistical arrangements for travel and procurement processes. 1
