The organization is committed to fostering partnerships, utilizing innovative technologies, and improving data analysis to support its mission across multiple countries.
Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is part of a significant initiative by UNFPA Jordan to support the 2026 General Population and Housing Census. This nationwide exercise is crucial for gathering accurate data about Jordan's population, households, and living conditions, which in turn informs better planning, policies, and services. Volunteers will play a vital role in raising awareness about the Census, utilizing their creativity and social media skills to reach diverse communities across the country. The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and who want to gain hands-on experience in digital communication and outreach. Volunteers will work in teams focused on graphics, video content creation, or digital dissemination, contributing to a national initiative that aims to ensure that every voice is heard and counted in Jordan's future planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Online Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to choose from one of three teams, each with specific responsibilities: Team 1 (Graphics & Digital Communication) will create engaging graphics, carousels, and infographics, adapting messages into clear Arabic content and suggesting creative outreach ideas. Team 2 (Video & Reels Content Creation) will focus on producing short videos and Reels, developing engaging hooks and captions to simplify and present Census information effectively. Team 3 (Digital Dissemination and Outreach) will be responsible for sharing approved Census content through various online communities, targeting youth and professional audiences, and tracking engagement metrics. Each team will refine their content based on feedback to ensure maximum impact and reach.
Required Qualifications:
The position is open to individuals with a passion for social media and community engagement. While prior experience in communications or graphic design is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Volunteers should possess creativity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication skills, particularly in Arabic, are essential for adapting content and engaging with diverse audiences. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation tools will be advantageous.
Educational Background:
There are no specific educational requirements for this volunteer position, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals, including students, recent graduates, or anyone interested in gaining experience in digital communication and outreach. A background in communications, marketing, graphic design, or related fields may be beneficial but is not required.
Experience:
No formal experience is required for this volunteer role, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in digital communication and outreach. However, any previous involvement in social media campaigns, graphic design, or community engagement activities will be considered a plus.
Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory for this position, as the content will primarily be created and disseminated in Arabic. Proficiency in English is also beneficial, as it may help in understanding broader communications and collaborating with international teams.
Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and while it offers valuable experience and the opportunity to contribute to a significant national initiative, it is not a paid role. The duration of the volunteer commitment is not specified, but it is expected that volunteers will actively participate in their chosen teams throughout the Census awareness campaign. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their skills in digital communication, social media outreach, and community engagement while working with a reputable international organization.
