Job Overview:
The Digital Communications and Web Assistant position at TWAS is designed to support the organization's mission of enhancing its communication efforts and expanding its impact in the field of science communication. The assistant will be responsible for monitoring the technical operations of the website, implementing improvements, and coordinating content updates. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the internal database infrastructure, which is essential for program implementation and donor-funded activities. The Digital Communications and Web Assistant will also analyze website usage statistics and produce reports to inform decision-making and enhance the website's effectiveness in reaching its audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this role will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: managing the technical operations of the TWAS website, ensuring it functions smoothly and meets user needs; overseeing the implementation of website improvements and coordinating with external developers for technical support; providing assistance to TWAS staff on website usage and software applications; producing and analyzing website usage statistics using tools like Google Analytics; maintaining and improving interconnected databases, creating new databases as needed; managing photo and other archives; producing, editing, and proofreading content for official reports and the TWAS website; creating small publications and graphic designs for both print and digital media using software like Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; and liaising with TWAS Fellows to assist them with their web platform accounts and profiles. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to enhancing the organization's online presence.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Digital Communications and Web Assistant position must possess a completed secondary, technical, or vocational school education. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in public information, communications production, or website management is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent drafting and editorial skills in English, as well as strong planning and organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail. A results-oriented mindset, teamwork skills, and a commitment to knowledge sharing are essential. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory, along with experience in graphic design and editing software, HTML, Content Management Systems, Google Analytics, and website management.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary education, with technical or vocational training being advantageous. Experience:
