Job Overview:
The REnew GEDSI and Partnerships Coordinator position is a full-time, max-term role based in Port Vila, Vanuatu, as part of the International Programs – REnew team. This role is pivotal in supporting partners across the Pacific to implement inclusive, safe, and locally led programming. The coordinator will focus on strengthening gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI), child safeguarding, and equitable partnerships within all REnew funded initiatives. The position involves a combination of regional site visits, hands-on mentoring, and technical support to ensure that marginalized communities, including children, women, and people with disabilities, are actively included in climate resilience and renewable energy programs. The coordinator will be responsible for providing GEDSI and safeguarding technical support, embedding inclusive approaches throughout project cycles, and delivering training and coaching to partner staff. This role is essential for fostering effective relationships with various stakeholders and sharing insights to promote continuous improvement and localization in programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the REnew GEDSI and Partnerships Coordinator include:
  • Providing GEDSI and safeguarding technical support to REnew partners throughout design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and delivery.
  • Supporting partners in embedding inclusive, safe, and participatory approaches across the project cycle.
  • Delivering safeguarding, PSEAH, and safe programming training and coaching to partner staff.
  • Strengthening local partner capacity through mentoring, assessments, and tailored work plans.
  • Building effective relationships with civil society, private sector, and government stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support.
  • Sharing evidence, learning, and insights to facilitate continuous improvement and localization of programs.
  • Conducting GEDSI analyses, assessments, and audits across development programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Developing GEDSI strategies, action plans, and monitoring frameworks to guide program implementation.
  • Producing high-quality reports, briefs, and training materials to communicate findings and recommendations. 1
  • Engaging in advocacy and policy efforts at national and sub-national levels to promote GEDSI principles. 1
  • Managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational and time management skills. 1
  • Traveling up to 25% of the time, including to field locations, to support program implementation and partner engagement.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong technical knowledge of GEDSI principles, frameworks, and methodologies, including gender mainstreaming, disability inclusion, and social inclusion approaches. Candidates should possess excellent facilitation, training, and capacity-building skills, with experience working with diverse audiences, including government, NGOs, and community stakeholders. A demonstrated ability to conduct GEDSI analyses, assessments, and audits across development programs is essential. Strong partnership management and stakeholder engagement skills are required, along with proficiency in developing GEDSI strategies, action plans, and monitoring frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, including the ability to produce high-quality reports and training materials. Candidates should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex GEDSI concepts into practical program actions. Experience in proposal writing, donor reporting, and knowledge management is highly valued, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools is required, along with knowledge of international development frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CEDAW, and CRPD. A commitment to child safeguarding and a rights-based approach to development is essential, as well as advocacy and policy engagement skills at various levels.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the REnew GEDSI and Partnerships Coordinator position should have a relevant educational background, typically including a degree in social sciences, international development, gender studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in GEDSI, child safeguarding, or related areas may be preferred. Experience:

Languages:

This position is a full-time role with a maximum term of 24 months, based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The role is open to Ni-Vanuatu citizens, but other Pacific nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
