Job Overview:
The position of European Global Partnerships Consultant is designed for a dynamic and resourceful individual who will play a crucial role in strengthening and expanding the IDB Group’s Strategic Alliances in Europe. The consultant will be part of the Global Partnerships Office (GPS) and will engage in various activities aimed at building partnerships and mobilizing resources to support the IDB Group’s development initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. This role involves close coordination with various operational and corporate units within the IDB Group, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategies and priorities. The consultant will be expected to conduct research, prepare presentation materials, and assist in the organization of high-level meetings and events, contributing to the overall mission of the IDB Group.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Participating in activities to identify new partners, particularly in the private sector, which involves conducting research and analysis, including marketing intelligence and risk analysis.
  • Preparing presentation materials and formalizing legal processes for institutional agreements or mobilization of resources.
  • Supporting the preparation of senior management missions in Europe, including partner identification, schedule coordination, and preparation of agendas and briefing materials.
  • Contributing to the organization and execution of events such as high-level meetings, workshops, and donor consultations.
  • Assisting in the design, planning, and administrative processes related to partnerships, including coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and communication activities, disseminating best practices and lessons learned through various media, and maintaining the EUR website and news reporting.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree in fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Law, International Development, or International Relations. Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of progressive experience in international relations and partnerships development, demonstrating a solid understanding of the dynamics involved in building and maintaining strategic alliances.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Law, International Development, or International Relations. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in international partnerships and development.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of progressive experience in international relations and partnerships development. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to engage with various stakeholders, conduct research, and contribute to the strategic objectives of the organization.

Languages:
Proficiency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered a valuable asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time consultant position based in Madrid, Spain, with a contract duration of 12 months, which may be extended up to 48 months, subject to eligibility.
