Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A background in communications, environmental science, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with relevant experience or a strong interest in environmental issues and fundraising are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, or volunteer work with NGOs is highly desirable. However, motivated individuals with a passion for environmental conservation and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French or other languages is a plus, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and as such, it is unpaid. The role is fully remote, allowing volunteers to work from anywhere. The commitment required may vary, but volunteers should be prepared to dedicate a significant amount of time to fundraising activities leading up to the conference. - Volunteers will engage in online fundraising efforts and assist in drafting grant proposals to secure funding for the conference. Volunteers will work collaboratively with ASCOA's team, utilizing the organization's premium NGO account for fundraising activities. It is important to note that volunteers will not be permitted to contact third parties on behalf of ASCOA, ensuring that all communications are managed through official channels. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in fundraising and grant writing while contributing to a vital environmental initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing online fundraising strategies to support the upcoming conference.
- Draft and edit grant proposals to secure funding from various sources.
- Collaborate with ASCOA team members to identify potential funding opportunities and develop targeted proposals.
- Conduct research on best practices in online fundraising and grant writing.
- Participate in virtual meetings to discuss progress and strategies with the ASCOA team.
- Maintain accurate records of fundraising efforts and proposals submitted.
- Provide regular updates on fundraising progress and challenges faced.
- Engage with the online community to raise awareness about the conference and its objectives.
