Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns at CERN will engage in a variety of tasks depending on their field of study. Responsibilities may include assisting in research projects, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with teams on technical or administrative tasks. Interns will be expected to apply their academic knowledge to practical situations, contribute to team discussions, and present their findings. Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, candidates must be nationals of CERN Member or Associate Member States and be full-time students pursuing a Technical/Administrative diploma, Bachelor, or Master degree. Candidates studying for a PhD are not eligible. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and maintain full-time student status throughout the internship. The main fields of study should include applied physics, computing, mathematics, engineering disciplines, or administrative fields such as translation, accounting, and human resources. Proficiency in English and/or French is required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time educational program at a recognized institution, pursuing a degree relevant to the internship. The fields of study should align with CERN's areas of research and administrative needs, ensuring that interns can contribute effectively to ongoing projects. The educational establishment must also provide proof of insurance coverage for the intern during their time at CERN.

Experience:
While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a strong academic background and a keen interest in their field of study. Interns will be expected to quickly adapt to the work environment and apply their theoretical knowledge to practical tasks. This internship is particularly suited for students looking to gain hands-on experience in a prestigious research organization.

Languages:
Good working proficiency in English and/or French is mandatory for all applicants. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The internship duration is flexible, ranging from a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 6 months. Interns will receive a monthly allowance of 1,593 Swiss Francs, which will be adjusted proportionally for shorter work periods. Candidates must ensure they have full insurance coverage valid in the Geneva area for medical expenses and accidents. CERN will not sign external documents for traineeship agreements, and candidates must use the CERN traineeship agreement provided.
