Job Overview:
The CRS Technical Advisor II for Emergency Nutrition will provide essential technical advice, guidance, and support to design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation, particularly focusing on larger projects within the Emergency Health sector. This role is crucial in ensuring that CRS adheres to program quality principles, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The advisor will work closely with regional and Country Program teams to enhance the effectiveness and innovation of CRS’ Emergency Nutrition programming globally. The position requires a deep understanding of emergency nutrition and the ability to contribute to the development of strategies, standards, and tools that engage various stakeholders, including partners and donors. The advisor will also play a key role in capacity strengthening initiatives, knowledge management, and maintaining relationships with donors and peer organizations.

The required qualifications for the CRS Technical Advisor II position include:
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition, public health, or a health-related field is required for this position. A Master’s Degree in nutrition or related fields is preferred and considered an advantage.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of relevant international working experience in an advisory or management role, ideally with an international NGO. This experience should include at least three years working on programming interventions in nutrition development and implementation in humanitarian or low-resource settings. Previous experience providing technical assistance and developing successful proposals for external donor funding is also required.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in French is preferred and considered beneficial.
Additional Notes:
The position is remote, and candidates must be willing to travel up to 50%. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities. - Contributing to the development and implementation of agency-wide strategies and standards in Emergency Nutrition.
- Ensuring a cross-sectoral approach that integrates gender, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction.
- Providing technical solutions to regional and Country Program teams for strategic planning and program design.
- Leading or contributing to the technical design of large and complex proposals, including monitoring systems and indicators.
- Advising project teams on integrating donor strategies and technical requirements into CRS’ approach.
- Contributing to capacity strengthening initiatives through training, mentoring, and developing learning strategies.
- Engaging in knowledge management by collecting and analyzing program data, evaluating projects, and sharing lessons learned.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with donors, peer organizations, and research institutions.
- Participating in forums to promote CRS’ work and share best practices in Emergency Nutrition.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the CRS Technical Advisor II position include:
- Demonstrated application of technical principles in Emergency Nutrition.
- General knowledge of related disciplines for a proper cross-sectoral approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office and web conferencing applications.
- Experience in business development and proposal development in Emergency Nutrition.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, and training using adult learning principles.
- Experience with program monitoring and evaluation, including data collection and analysis.
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
