Job Overview:
The Case Aide position is integral to the IRC's mission of supporting refugees and qualified immigrants in their resettlement journey. This role is focused on providing trauma-informed services that facilitate a positive resettlement experience and promote long-term self-sufficiency for clients. The Case Aide assists clients in accessing essential services, such as housing, healthcare, transportation, and childcare, while also supporting caseworkers in the implementation of individualized service plans. This position requires a proactive approach to help clients navigate complex systems, overcome barriers, and stay engaged with their personalized plans. The duties and responsibilities of the Case Aide include, but are not limited to: assisting clients in accessing essential services such as housing, healthcare, transportation, and childcare; supporting caseworkers in implementing individualized self-sufficiency and employability plans through encouragement and practical support; facilitating connections to community programs that promote integration and economic stability; maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and inputting information into internal databases; communicating and coordinating effectively with IRC staff, service providers, and community partners to enhance service delivery; providing transportation or accompanying clients to appointments, job interviews, and service agencies as needed; assisting with referrals, scheduling, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth service delivery; providing interpretation services when qualified and appropriate; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Case Aide position include a high school diploma as a minimum educational requirement. Additionally, at least one year of relevant experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience working with refugee or immigrant populations. Candidates should demonstrate strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills, as well as the ability to communicate and work effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential, along with a detail-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital tools for data entry and research is also required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with fluency in English being mandatory and proficiency in refugee or immigrant languages being preferred.
