Job Overview:
The District Lead position is crucial for the implementation of the 'Expanding TPT in the Private Sector at the Patient’s Doorstep' project, which aims to enhance tuberculosis preventive treatment (TPT) access in private healthcare settings. The District Lead will oversee the establishment and operation of TPT Centres, manage relationships with healthcare facilities, and ensure effective service delivery. This role requires a strong operational focus, with approximately 60% of the time spent in the field. The District Lead will coordinate with various stakeholders, including private hospitals and government health systems, to ensure that every household contact in intervention facilities is documented and receives appropriate care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The District Lead will be responsible for the operational management of TPT Centres, including the identification and onboarding of facilities, supervising Field Officers and Telecallers, and managing drug supply logistics. They will lead stakeholder management efforts with the District TB Officer and DTC staff, conduct training sessions for private providers, and ensure data quality and reporting accuracy. The District Lead will also represent WJCF in external engagements and maintain accountability for project outcomes at the district level.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a graduate or post-graduate degree in Public Health, Social Work, Health Management, or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public health program implementation or field operations is required, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in TB or HIV programs. Strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to travel extensively within the district are essential. Familiarity with NTEP workflows and Nikshay data entry is preferred.
Educational Background:
A graduate or post-graduate degree in relevant fields such as Public Health (MPH), Social Work (MSW), or Health Management (MBA – Healthcare) is required. Candidates with a science background and strong field program experience will also be considered.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in public health program implementation or field operations. Experience in TB, HIV, or private sector health engagement is preferred, along with demonstrated experience in supervising field staff and managing health program activities.
Languages:
Fluency in the relevant district language is mandatory, along with working proficiency in English. This bilingual capability is crucial for effective communication with diverse stakeholders in the healthcare system.
