Job Overview:
The Field coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Medical Coordinator plays a crucial role in the implementation and oversight of health services at Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) supported by Relief International. Under the supervision of the Health Coordinator, the Field Medical Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical and technical mentoring to healthcare providers, ensuring that all activities align with the standards set by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the health team. The Field Medical Coordinator will engage with physicians to review clinical guidelines, monitor service quality, and ensure that healthcare practices meet established standards. The role also involves regular field visits to assess the implementation of health programs and provide technical input on medical supplies and equipment procurement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Medical Coordinator's duties include ensuring the implementation of the LPSP components at supported PHCCs, reviewing and approving diagnostic test requests, engaging with physicians to discuss patient management, and monitoring the quality of services provided. The coordinator will also ensure the completeness and quality of medical documentation, monitor early warning systems for disease outbreaks, and collaborate with pharmacists to promote rational use of medicines. Regular field visits will be conducted to assess project activities, and the coordinator will report on implementation progress, key achievements, and challenges to the Health Coordinator. Additionally, the role requires adherence to Protection and Safeguarding policies, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting a safe environment for beneficiaries.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a medical degree and a valid license to practice medicine in Lebanon. A minimum of three years of relevant post-qualification clinical experience is required, including at least one year in primary healthcare, public health, or humanitarian health programming. Knowledge of the MoPH primary health care network and essential services at primary health care is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to establish confidential relationships with PHC coordinators and physicians, and a commitment to the humanitarian mission of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required.
Educational Background:
A medical degree from an accredited institution is mandatory for this position. Candidates must hold a valid medical license to practice in Lebanon, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of clinical experience post-qualification, with at least one year specifically in primary healthcare or related fields. Experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in emergency contexts, is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is required, along with excellent written and spoken English skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, particularly in enhancing communication with diverse populations.
