Job Overview:
The CHAI Analyst for Market Access will play a crucial role in the China Country Team, focusing on building healthier global marketplaces for vital medical commodities. The position involves applying CHAI's global market-shaping strategies to ensure the sustainable supply of health products in China. The analyst will be responsible for conducting market landscaping, competitive analysis, and developing demand forecasts to inform market access strategies. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to evaluate public health impacts and share market intelligence, ultimately aiming to improve the availability and affordability of essential health products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the CHAI Analyst include leading market landscaping and competitive analysis across various health sector program areas, developing multi-country demand forecasts, conducting research on regulatory policies relevant to health products, and producing high-quality market analysis reports. The analyst will also support the design and execution of market-shaping interventions, manage supplier engagement through primary research, and coordinate with CHAI global team members across different disease programs. Additional responsibilities may arise as needed, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in public health, biology, economics, finance, political science, engineering, or related fields. A minimum of 2-4 years of full-time work experience in international organizations, the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, management consulting, financial services, or market research is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and AI tools is essential, along with strong quantitative, market, and financial analysis skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to tailor communication for diverse audiences.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in relevant fields such as public health, biology, economics, finance, political science, or engineering. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of market access and health systems.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2-4 years of full-time work experience in relevant sectors, including international organizations, the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, management consulting, or market research. Experience working or living in China is preferred, as is familiarity with global, cross-cultural teams and international organizations.
Languages:
Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory for this position, as English is the working language. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
