The organization is committed to aligning national policies and legislation with international and EU standards, promoting a comprehensive approach to refugee response.
Job Overview:
UNHCR Bulgaria is seeking an Online Volunteer to create two short animated explainer videos that will present key information about the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. The focus will be on the rights of asylum-seekers and refugees during the asylum procedure, as well as addressing the needs of individuals with temporary protection. The purpose of these videos is to convey legal and procedural information in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner for individuals seeking international protection. The organization will provide the necessary script, legal content, key messages, branding guidance, and any relevant visual materials, while the volunteer will be responsible for transforming this information into engaging animations that are easy to understand for a broad audience.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong background in animation or video production, with a proven ability to create engaging and informative content. Familiarity with legal and procedural information related to asylum and refugee rights is highly desirable. The volunteer should also demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with the UNHCR team and incorporating feedback throughout the production process.
Educational Background:
Candidates should ideally have a degree or equivalent experience in animation, graphic design, multimedia production, or a related field. A strong portfolio showcasing previous work in animation or video production will be an important aspect of the application process, demonstrating the candidate's skills and creativity in this area.
Experience:
While specific years of experience may not be required, candidates should have demonstrable experience in creating animated videos or motion graphics. Previous work with NGOs or organizations focused on refugee issues, human rights, or social justice will be considered an asset, as it indicates an understanding of the context and sensitivity required for this project.
Languages:
The primary language for the videos will be English. However, if the volunteers producing the videos are Bulgarian-speaking, it is preferred that the videos also be provided in Bulgarian to ensure accessibility for the relevant audience. Proficiency in both languages will enhance the effectiveness of the communication.

However, it provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in animation and video production while contributing to a meaningful cause. The role is expected to be flexible in terms of hours, allowing the volunteer to work remotely and manage their own schedule. The duration of the project will depend on the timeline established for video production, and the volunteer will be expected to deliver the final products within the agreed timeframe.
