Job Overview:
The Program Development Advisor (PDA) for Asia will play a crucial role in supporting the IRC's country programs in securing funding opportunities aligned with the organization's Business Development Strategy. This position encompasses all phases of the business development process, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and contract finalization. The PDA will work closely with country teams to address their business development needs, engage with institutional donors, and facilitate partnerships. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong background in humanitarian and international development funding, particularly with multilateral and bilateral donors, and will be instrumental in enhancing the IRC's funding landscape in the Asia region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The PDA will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including: 1) Collaborating with country teams to identify and address their business development priorities and support needs. 2) Supporting the full proposal lifecycle, from initial assessments of new opportunities to the preparation and submission of proposals, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance with donor requirements. 3) Facilitating the identification of consultants and partners for proposal development. 4) Providing quality assurance on proposals and ensuring responsiveness to solicitation documents. 5) Engaging with donors and partners to enhance IRC's visibility and funding opportunities. 6) Contributing to capacity building by developing and delivering training related to business development. 7) Participating in internal debrief sessions to gather lessons learned and improve future proposals. 8) Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new team members as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess experience in developing and supporting humanitarian and development proposals for NGOs, with a strong understanding of the strategies and proposal processes of key government donors such as the US, UK, EU, and Scandinavian countries. Additionally, candidates should have experience collaborating with national and community-based partners, as well as expertise in proposal budgeting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and remote teams. Strong writing skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to travel internationally (approximately 20% of the time) are also required. Fluency in English is mandatory.
