Job Overview:
The Team Leader position at Ada's Haven involves more than just managing programs; it requires leading teams that assist women and children in rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic and family violence. This role combines operational leadership with meaningful practice leadership, ensuring that high-quality refuge and recovery services are delivered with a focus on the voices of women and children. The ideal candidate will be a confident, values-driven leader capable of building strong teams, fostering a culture of accountability and learning, and navigating complex situations with compassion and sound judgment. The position is full-time and permanent, situated within the Refuge & Recovery team in Toowoomba, and aims to create lasting change for children and families affected by domestic violence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will be responsible for providing feedback to the team to ensure quality service delivery, maintaining team awareness of role responsibilities, and meeting contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations. Effective leadership will be required to supervise, coach, and develop a team of practitioners, focusing on building strong and sustainable teams. The role also involves timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on programmatic inputs, deliverables, and outcomes. Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships is crucial, requiring liaison and consultation with local communities, professionals, service providers, and referral services to ensure that services meet client and contractual obligations. Additionally, the Team Leader will identify, manage, and monitor risks to program/service delivery, quality, staff wellbeing, and Child Safeguarding.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant Human Service Qualification, along with significant experience managing a similar service. A current valid driver’s license is also required. Knowledge of best practices, professional standards, legislation, and relevant research in the field of domestic and family violence is essential. Experience in coaching, mentoring, and transferring skills and knowledge to others is also necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage services related to domestic and family violence effectively. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of the issues faced by women and children in crisis situations.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in managing services similar to those provided by Ada's Haven. This includes a strong background in domestic and family violence, as well as experience in leading teams, coaching, and mentoring staff. The candidate should have a proven track record of developing high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative culture focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

Languages:
