Job Overview:
The Senior Associate position at CHAI focuses on supporting the design, execution, and scale-up of interventions aimed at reducing lead exposure, a significant global health issue. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the design, planning, and execution of analytical and operational workstreams for projects aimed at reducing lead exposure. This includes accelerating access to blood lead level diagnostics, increasing access to portable environmental testing equipment, and supporting nationally-driven coordination mechanisms. The role also involves conducting complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and building productive relationships with various stakeholders, including government teams and academic partners. Additionally, the Senior Associate will monitor project budgets, ensure quality execution, and contribute to the development of proposals and strategic plans.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, business, public health, environmental health, environmental science, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fast-paced, results-oriented environments is required. Strong project management skills, the ability to conduct analytical workstreams, and the capability to synthesize findings into practical recommendations are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in communication, particularly in preparing presentations and reports for senior stakeholders. High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is also necessary, along with a commitment to CHAI’s values.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public policy, economics, business, public health, environmental health, or environmental science is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is considered an advantage, as it may provide additional insights and skills relevant to the role.
Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in environments that are fast-paced and results-oriented, such as consulting, finance, or pharmaceuticals. Experience in lead exposure, environmental health, or child health is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and conduct analytical workstreams.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to CHAI program countries, such as Hindi, French, Swahili, Amharic, or Yoruba, is considered a significant advantage.
Additional Notes:
The position is remote and can be based within 7 hours of US Eastern Time. It may also be based in a CHAI program country, pending leadership approval. The role is expected to require up to 20% travel. CHAI is open to hiring exceptional candidates with less professional experience at the Associate level, indicating flexibility in the hiring criteria.
