Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Officer (Sustainability) position at WFP is crucial for addressing the increasing humanitarian needs exacerbated by climate change and environmental degradation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing initiatives that enhance sustainability, resilience, and operational efficiency within WFP's supply chain systems. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including Country Offices, to achieve corporate sustainability milestones and develop supply chain sustainability projects. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying innovative financing and procurement modalities that promote sustainable practices while ensuring alignment with WFP's broader program activities. The Supply Chain Officer will also conduct research on trends and solutions in sustainability, translating findings into actionable recommendations for WFP operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Officer (Sustainability) will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:

• Providing technical support to Country Offices in implementing regional supply chain environmental strategies and achieving sustainability milestones.
• Coordinating the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures that enhance sustainability and efficiency in supply chain operations.
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal WFP divisions and external partners, including NGOs, UN agencies, and governments, to foster collaboration on sustainability efforts.
• Seeking partnership and funding opportunities through proposal development and effective project positioning.
• Conducting research on sustainability trends and solutions, documenting lessons learned, and developing best practices for scaling sustainable initiatives.
• Supporting frameworks and tools to monitor and report on environmental impacts of WFP's supply chain.
• Providing guidance and training to Country Offices and partners on sustainability initiatives and knowledge management.
• Supporting other thematic areas within the Supply Chain Division as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in environmental and social sustainability, supply chain management, logistics, or procurement. Essential competencies include project management, effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management. Candidates should demonstrate experience in sustainability initiatives within a supply chain context, as well as familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and impact measurement methodologies. The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in multicultural environments is crucial.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, International Development, International Relations, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be accepted.

Experience:
For the CST I / Level I Consultancy position, a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required. For the CST II / Level II Consultancy position, at least five years of experience related to sustainability in the multilateral sector is necessary. Experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and operations is essential, along with a proven track record of managing projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, including strong technical writing skills. Intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language, particularly French, Spanish, or Arabic, is highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's profile.
