Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is part of WHO's initiative to raise awareness about immunization in the Western Pacific region. Volunteers will engage in a campaign that runs from 14 September to 22 October 2026, coinciding with the 77th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific. The campaign aims to highlight the importance of immunization, promote WHO's regional immunization priorities through 2030, and encourage informed discussions within communities. Volunteers will be responsible for sharing evidence-based immunization messages on their personal social media platforms, participating in virtual orientation and learning sessions, and fostering constructive conversations about immunization. This role is crucial in mobilizing community support for vaccination efforts and addressing vaccine hesitancy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Share 1-2 posts per week on personal social media platforms, utilizing various formats such as images, videos, and text to convey WHO's immunization messages.
  • Participate in a mandatory virtual orientation session in early September to understand WHO's regional immunization priorities and campaign objectives.
  • Attend two virtual learning sessions throughout the campaign, focusing on topics like immunization, vaccine confidence, health communication, and countering misinformation.
  • Encourage respectful and constructive conversations on social media regarding the importance of immunization and promote accurate health information.
  • Track and record engagement activities using monitoring forms provided by WHO and UNV, including links to public posts and audience reach.
  • Optionally, serve as a Group Coordinator, taking on additional responsibilities such as supporting group members, ensuring engagement metrics are tracked, and compiling a report at the end of the campaign.
  • Adhere to guidelines by not providing independent medical advice or responding to individual medical inquiries.
