Job Overview:
The position of Consultant at IRC Hellas is integral to the implementation of the EU-funded educational project 'Kids4EU – Democracy Starts Here: Kids Uniting for a Brighter EU Future.' This two-year initiative, running from February 2026 to January 2028, focuses on promoting civic education and EU values among children and adolescents aged 6 to 1

• The Consultants will be responsible for designing and facilitating participatory educational methodologies, creative workshops, and storytelling sessions that engage young participants in learning about democracy, equality, and human rights. The role requires collaboration with IRC Hellas, which will manage overall project coordination, participant recruitment, and logistics. The Consultants will play a crucial role in ensuring that educational activities are inclusive, engaging, and accessible, particularly for children from marginalized communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultants will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:

• Educational Design and Facilitation: Create and lead age-appropriate, participatory educational activities for children aged 6-18, focusing on storytelling, creative workshops, and interactive learning experiences that promote EU values and active citizenship.
• Specific Work Package Contributions: - WP6: Design and facilitate storytelling sessions and follow-up activities in schools and libraries across various locations. - WP7: Develop intercultural activities linked to international observances, including workshops and cultural exchange sessions. - WP9: Facilitate workshops on democracy, multiculturalism, and anti-discrimination. - WP14: Co-facilitate advocacy training workshops for children and young people, helping them develop creative advocacy campaigns. - WP15: Assist in preparing child-friendly methods for presenting views to policymakers.
• Documentation and Safeguarding: Provide activity summaries and ensure compliance with IRC's safeguarding policies, reporting any concerns as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong skills in educational design and facilitation, particularly in participatory methodologies. Experience working with children and adolescents, especially in diverse and marginalized communities, is essential. The ability to adapt educational materials to various age groups and contexts is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate creativity in developing engaging activities that promote civic values and inclusion. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with IRC Hellas and other stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in education, social sciences, or a related field is required. Candidates should have formal training or experience in educational methodologies, particularly those focused on civic education, arts-based learning, or participatory approaches. Additional qualifications in child development or psychology may be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in educational roles, particularly those involving children and youth. Experience in designing and facilitating workshops or educational programs that promote civic engagement, democracy, and inclusion is highly desirable. Familiarity with the challenges faced by marginalized communities, including migrants and refugees, will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Greek is mandatory, as the position involves working with local communities and schools. Proficiency in English is also required, as it is the working language of the IRC. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken by migrant communities, would be considered an asset.
