Job Overview: The position of Economist within the World Bank's Fiscal Policy and Growth (FPG) Department is critical for enhancing macro-fiscal foundations in Mozambique. Duties and Responsibilities: The Economist will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: contributing to FPG Advisory Services and Analytics (ASA) in areas such as macroeconomic and fiscal management, public finance, and private-sector development; collecting, analyzing, and maintaining economic data relevant to Mozambique; preparing macroeconomic projections and contributing to various economic reports and policy notes; designing and implementing financing operations, including Development Policy Financing; leading or participating in country-specific financing operations and advisory services; engaging in policy dialogue with government officials on macro-fiscal issues; establishing partnerships with various stakeholders; and disseminating World Bank knowledge products to relevant audiences. The role also involves contributing to regional and cross-country analytical work as needed, ensuring that the Economist's contributions align with the broader goals of the World Bank Group.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in economics or a closely related field, with a PhD preferred.
