Job Overview:
The Senior Program Manager for Safety, Health & Wellness is responsible for providing comprehensive oversight and coordination of IRC Arizona's Health and Safety & Wellness programs across both Phoenix and Tucson. This role involves supervising staff, developing partnerships, and maintaining grant compliance to ensure effective service delivery. The Senior Program Manager will work to create a unified strategy that enhances program quality, expands partnerships, and coordinates growth while addressing the unique needs of each community. This position requires a strong understanding of public health, safety, and wellness trends, as well as the ability to implement trauma-informed service models and monitor program effectiveness.

Educational Background:
The position requires a graduate degree in social work, public health, or a related field, which is strongly preferred. An undergraduate degree in social work or equivalent work experience is also acceptable. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of health and wellness programming, as well as the needs of vulnerable populations.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of related professional experience, which includes proven skills in supervising case management staff, grant reporting, and program development. Experience in multi-site or cross-program management is preferred, as the role involves overseeing programs across multiple locations. Additionally, demonstrated experience with trauma-informed, victim-centered, and/or public health service models is crucial for effectively managing the programs and ensuring quality service delivery.
Languages:
The position requires excellent written and spoken English skills. Bilingual ability is preferred, as it enhances communication with diverse populations and improves service delivery to clients from various backgrounds.
Additional Notes:
The working environment includes a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. Regular travel between Phoenix and Tucson is required, with occasional domestic travel up to 10%. The position may also require occasional weekend and/or evening work. The compensation for this role ranges from $69,939 to $92,500 per year, depending on various factors such as the labor market, job type, and individual candidate experience. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Statewide Strategy & Coordination: Act as the primary point of coordination for Health and Safety & Wellness programming across IRC Arizona, aligning strategies and resources between Phoenix and Tucson. Identify program priorities and support leadership in making decisions regarding program investments and expansions. Develop a collaborative framework that promotes consistency and quality while allowing for local flexibility. Stay informed about public health trends affecting IRC clients and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Program Oversight & Quality: Supervise Health and Safety & Wellness program staff, fostering collaboration and professional development. Design operational strategies for grant implementation and program logistics. Implement a trauma-informed service model and ensure timely and culturally appropriate responses to client needs. Conduct regular reviews and field visits to monitor service delivery and compliance with donor requirements.
- Program Development & Community Expansion: Support the development of new programming, including case management and health education initiatives. Identify stakeholders and resources to facilitate program growth and assess opportunities to adapt services for broader underserved populations. Collaborate with other IRC teams to create multidisciplinary service approaches.
- Partnership & Funding Development: Build relationships with health agencies, hospitals, universities, and community organizations to enhance outreach and stakeholder engagement. Identify and write grant opportunities to diversify funding sources and reduce reliance on specific government funding streams.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Provide direct supervision to program supervisors and staff, offering coaching and leadership development. Oversee AmeriCorps members, interns, and volunteers associated with the programs.
- Compliance & Organizational Commitment: Ensure outreach and training activities align with program outcomes. Participate in senior management meetings and uphold IRC values and policies. Other duties as assigned.
