Job Overview:
The Communications Video Editor position is designed to support UNFPA's communication and advocacy goals across 23 countries by establishing a roster of skilled video editors. The primary objective is to maintain a pool of video editors who can visually capture UNFPA's work and impact through high-quality video content. The role involves editing video footage that documents key activities, events, and field visits, creating compelling 2D animations to communicate complex topics, and handling comprehensive video editing and professional color correction. Video editors will collaborate with the communications team to understand assignment objectives, plan post-production workflows, adjust scripts, enhance media for impactful visuals, and deliver finalized videos in various formats. This position is crucial for effectively communicating UNFPA's mission and achievements to a broader audience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, media studies, film production, or a related discipline is required. Candidates must also provide a portfolio link that showcases their video editing skills, color correction abilities, and experience with 2D animation.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in video editing and production. Experience editing human stories through a human rights and feminist lens is desirable. Familiarity with UN agencies, NGOs, or international organizations is also preferred, as it demonstrates an understanding of the context in which UNFPA operates.
Languages:
Essential: Expert knowledge of English (as a native language) is mandatory. Good to have: Proficiency in French or Portuguese (spoken and written) is preferred, as it can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and audiences.

- Submit digital copies of all written consent forms related to video content.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of relevant experience in video editing and production.
- Portfolio link demonstrating proficiency in video editing, color correction, and 2D animation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard video editing and animation software, showcasing expertise in 2D animation and script adaptation.
- Ability to work in diverse and challenging environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively convey messages and collaborate with teams.
- Evidence of access to professional editing equipment and hardware to ensure high-quality production.

Production timelines will be agreed upon with the communications Regional Advisor based on the length and complexity of the tasks.
