Job Overview:
The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Grants Unit, contributing to the overall quality of programming by supporting the Grants Manager in effective grants management. This includes ensuring compliance with internal and donor requirements, facilitating timely and high-quality proposal development, and acting as the focal point for mandatory activities under NRC’s Project Cycle Management (PCM). The Grants Coordinator is responsible for keeping the program and support teams informed about relevant donor compliance regulations and NRC procedures, managing donor reporting, and coordinating grant revisions. The position requires collaboration with Project Managers and Core Competency Specialists to develop proposals and reports in accordance with the grant process flowchart. The Grants Coordinator must ensure adherence to NRC policies and procedures while promoting safeguarding and anti-corruption standards within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Coordinator's duties include adherence to NRC policies and procedures, maintaining an overview of all grants and donor requirements, and supporting the development of concept notes, proposals, and reports in collaboration with program and support teams. The role involves ensuring donor compliance and quality control across the project portfolio, providing an internal helpdesk on donor-related issues, and facilitating key PCM activities such as Proposal Planning Meetings and Grant Opening Meetings. The Grants Coordinator will also support external donor audits, promote safeguarding standards, and assist in training and capacity building of staff on NRC grants management and donor compliance. Specific responsibilities include coordinating proposal development, reviewing donor contracts, organizing Grant Opening Meetings, and ensuring high-quality donor reporting and monitoring. The Grants Coordinator will maintain accurate documentation and information management systems, attend relevant meetings, and coordinate with the Grants Unit staff to ensure up-to-date maintenance of grants and funding trackers.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Grants Coordinator position should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in a related field, particularly in donor relations and grants management with institutional humanitarian and development donors. A good understanding of donor rules and regulations is essential, along with proven skills in report and proposal development. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines under pressure, and experience in staff capacity-building. Additionally, candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for the Grants Coordinator position, typically including a degree in a field related to international development, humanitarian assistance, or a similar area. Advanced degrees may be preferred, depending on the specific requirements of the organization and the complexity of the role.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in grants management, donor relations, and working in complex environments, particularly with displaced populations. Experience in training and capacity building of staff is also beneficial, as well as familiarity with the dynamics of the humanitarian sector.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the region or the populations served by NRC.

This position is based in the West Bank and is classified as a Grade 07, Step 01 role. The contract duration is fixed-term and renewable based on funding and performance.
