Job Overview:
The Facilitator for Farmer Groups is responsible for mentoring farmers to prepare groups and members for RSPO certification, regenerative agriculture, sustainable agricultural practices (SAP), and group empowerment. This role involves organizing activities at the farmer group level in accordance with the program developed in collaboration with the District Coordinator and specialists in each district. The position will be based at the farmer group level in one of the intervention districts, including Rokan Hulu, Kampar, Siak, and Pelalawan in Riau Province. The facilitator will work under the coordination of the District Coordinator and collaborate with other team members to ensure the successful implementation of activities. The role also emphasizes WRI's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), requiring active participation in collaborative efforts to integrate equity values into work, workplace environment, and organizational culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Facilitator include:

• Implementing the program by building understanding of RSPO certification systems, regenerative agriculture, and farmer empowerment according to applicable standards.
• Developing work plans at the group/village level based on coordination and consultation with the District Coordinator and specialists in each district.
• Preparing monthly budget plans in accordance with the DIP and general work plans.
• Organizing independent farmers at the farmer group level to implement capacity building and empowerment programs according to activity plans.
• Facilitating the formation of independent farmer organizations (Gapoktan/Cooperatives/Associations) as needed.
• Facilitating the establishment of an Internal Control System (ICS) team and ensuring its functionality after the formation of farmer organizations.
• Assisting farmer groups in collecting and organizing all documents, both individual farmer documents (legality or land certificates, biodata, etc.) and Gapoktan/Cooperatives/Associations documents according to RSPO standards.
• Facilitating discussions with farmer groups/Gapoktan/Cooperatives/Associations to achieve RSPO certification, regenerative agriculture, and to socialize the benefits of RSPO certification and regenerative agriculture.
• Organizing program activities, preparing post-activity reports and evaluation results, and monitoring program implementation together with the District Coordinator and specialists. 1
• Reporting on the progress of facilitating farmer groups to the District Coordinator regularly (weekly or monthly). 1
• Building good relationships with stakeholders at the village level and collaborating with government agencies, local partners, farmer groups, and the Food, Land, and Water (FLW) program team at WRI Indonesia in Jakarta and Riau Province according to the context of activities. 1
• Supporting and facilitating research teams and research partners in the work area according to the context of activities. 1
• Supporting and facilitating the communication team in developing communication materials in the work area.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position include:

• A diploma (D3) in agriculture, economics, or social sciences.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive professional work experience related to sustainability standards, auditing, and certification in the context of natural resource management.
• Experience working in the palm oil sector, particularly with independent farmers, and familiarity with issues related to palm oil production.
• Experience in mentoring independent farmer organizations for RSPO certification, business development, and women's empowerment.
• Understanding of RSPO principles and criteria for independent farmers and their application.
• Knowledge of regenerative agriculture as an added value.
• Understanding of environmental and social sustainability issues affecting agricultural commodity sectors.
• Ability to work independently and confidently take initiative and make decisions.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, especially with local farmers. 1
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 1

• Willingness to be placed and work in rural areas as assigned. 1
• Legal eligibility to work in Indonesia.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a diploma (D3) in fields such as agriculture, economics, or social sciences. This educational background is essential to ensure that the facilitator has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively engage with farmers and implement sustainable agricultural practices.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in areas related to sustainability standards, auditing, and certification, particularly in the context of natural resource management. Experience in the palm oil sector, especially working with independent farmers, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in the palm oil industry will enhance the candidate's ability to support farmer groups effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory, as it is essential for communication with local farmers and stakeholders. Knowledge of English is considered a good-to-have skill, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and enhance the facilitator's ability to access global resources and information.

• The consultant will be compensated on a daily rate basis, with a maximum of 20 working days per month. Applications must be submitted through the WRI Career Portal by the deadline of September 10, 202
