Job Overview:
The Programme Associate (Disability Inclusion & Localization) will play a crucial role in supporting the planning phase, including Field Level Agreement (FLA) and contractual processes. This position involves coordinating with selected partners and leading start-up activities, such as inception planning and partnership orientation. The associate will work under the supervision of the PGAAP Team Lead and will be responsible for reviewing and finalizing FLA documentation, managing partnerships with national-level Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and ensuring compliance with WFP's disability inclusion corporate guidance. The role requires preparing project planning documents, coordinating workshops for persons with disabilities, and maintaining regular communication with WFP units and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation. The associate will also identify and address implementation risks and support OPDs in strengthening safeguarding and accountability mechanisms.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary school education, with a preference for candidates holding a post-secondary certificate in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disability Studies, Social Work, Humanitarian Action, Public Administration, or Project Management. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of disability inclusion and localization in humanitarian contexts.
Experience:
Candidates should possess at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in areas related to disability inclusion, localization, partnership management, or humanitarian programmes. This experience should ideally include operational roles within WFP or similar organizations, as well as work with OPDs and community-based organizations. Experience in managing partnerships, conducting capacity assessments, and facilitating training sessions is also highly valued.
Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar languages is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with stakeholders and for the successful implementation of projects focused on disability inclusion and localization.
Additional Notes:
The Programme Associate position is classified under the SSA-6 grade and is offered as a Special Services Agreement. The duty station for this role is Nay Pyi Taw, with a contract duration of 3 months, and there is a possibility of relocation to Yangon. - Coordinating and supporting the organization of workshops for persons with disabilities and other project initiation activities.
- Developing and finalizing project implementation arrangements, including reporting requirements and budget planning.
- Ensuring alignment between project activities and partner workplans.
- Maintaining liaison with WFP units and stakeholders to facilitate project start-up.
- Identifying and escalating implementation risks and supporting the development of mitigation measures. 1
- Supporting OPDs in strengthening safeguarding and accountability mechanisms as part of organizational capacity strengthening.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Programme Associate position include:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- A post-secondary certificate in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disability Studies, Social Work, Humanitarian Action, Public Administration, Project Management, or related fields is desirable.
- At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in disability inclusion, localization, partnership management, or related areas.
- Operational experience with WFP is highly desirable.
- Experience working with OPDs, civil society organizations, or community-based organizations is highly desirable.
