Job Overview:
The Technical Assistant for Youth Empowerment and Innovation will play a pivotal role in supporting UNDP Indonesia's initiatives aimed at empowering youth and fostering innovation. This position is designed to assist in the implementation and mainstreaming of youth-focused programs within the country office's portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that youth are not only beneficiaries of development efforts but also active contributors to shaping inclusive and sustainable development pathways. The role involves coordinating projects such as the Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurship Empowerment (YUMEE) and the Youth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship Program (YDEEP), which aim to enhance youth skills, access to finance, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Technical Assistant will also facilitate partnerships and collaborations among youth groups, government entities, and private sector stakeholders to address pressing issues faced by young people in Indonesia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a university degree in Development, International Relations, Management, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or related fields being preferred. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required for those with secondary education, or 2 years for candidates with a bachelor's degree. Experience in project implementation, communication, and proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and AI-related tools, are essential. Additional skills in administrative support, partnership coordination, and familiarity with youth empowerment initiatives will be advantageous.
Educational Background:
The position requires at least secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Development, International Relations, Management, or Social Sciences. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of youth empowerment and development initiatives.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in youth empowerment and engagement, or a related field, if they hold secondary education. For those with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in project/program implementation, communication, and working with diverse stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for engaging with various stakeholders and implementing youth programs successfully. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

- Providing logistical support for organizing programs and maintaining communication with implementing agencies.
- Developing outreach materials and managing social media content to enhance youth engagement.
- Supporting resource mobilization efforts by documenting project activities and maintaining stakeholder databases.
- Ensuring that all activities adhere to UNDP's social and environmental standards, promoting gender equality and inclusivity in all implementations.
