The Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Officer will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's mission in the Solomon Islands by enhancing the effectiveness of program implementation through robust planning, monitoring, and reporting systems. The role also involves supporting the implementation of evaluation activities and facilitating reporting to UNICEF and its partners, thereby strengthening accountability and transparency in program delivery. Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment. The role requires adaptability and professionalism, as well as a commitment to accountability and results-oriented work. Familiarity with UNICEF's planning and monitoring systems is advantageous, as is experience in data management and reporting.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, public health, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are preferred and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the position.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in program planning, monitoring, and reporting, preferably within an international development context. Experience working with UN agencies or NGOs is highly desirable, as is familiarity with results-based management frameworks.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages or dialects is an asset and may enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.

This position is a full-time role based in Honiara, Solomon Islands. The living conditions in Honiara are modest, with access to basic amenities. Volunteers should be prepared for occasional logistical challenges and should take necessary health precautions. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programme Planning and Workplanning: Assist program sections in preparing and consolidating annual workplans, ensuring they align with UNICEF's strategic objectives. Support the use of planning platforms and ensure the quality and completeness of workplans.
- Monitoring, Data Systems and Reporting: Track progress against indicators, assist in data analysis, and maintain organized data systems. Prepare internal and external reports, including donor reports and annual reviews.
- Field Monitoring and HACT-related Assurance: Coordinate field monitoring activities, document findings, and follow up on actions to improve program performance.
- Programme Reviews and Performance Monitoring: Organize and coordinate program reviews, monitor follow-up actions, and provide analytical inputs for performance monitoring.
- Evaluation Support and Knowledge Management: Assist in implementing the Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, coordinate evaluation processes, and disseminate findings.
- Data Management, Innovation and Capacity Building: Develop databases for key indicators, enhance data analysis and visualization, and build capacity among staff and partners.
- Partnerships and Coordination: Collaborate with government counterparts and UN agencies on planning and reporting processes, contributing to inter-agency discussions.
