The Child Protection Officer position within UNICEF's Child Protection Programme in India is focused on promoting the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Child Protection Officer will undertake various tasks under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Specialist, including: 1) Programme management support: Contributing to the planning and review of the child protection annual workplan, preparing programme documentation, supporting monitoring efforts, conducting field visits, coordinating with partners, and preparing progress reports. 2) Knowledge management: Identifying and sharing lessons learned, reporting on promising practices, and managing knowledge resources. The officer will also participate in stakeholder meetings, ensuring quality follow-up on actions agreed upon, and contribute to the development of concept notes, strategy briefs, funding proposals, and donor reports.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The contract duration is subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance, with no expectation of renewal. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position offers a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of INR 70,158.41, along with other benefits such as health insurance, annual leave, and access to learning resources. The living conditions in Kolkata are generally good, with basic amenities available, and the city is considered safe for both international and national staff.
