Job Overview:
The position involves supporting the WHO EMRO in utilizing public health intelligence tools to enhance the early detection and assessment of potential public health events. The role is primarily focused on the routine screening of information available through the EIOS platform, which is essential for preparing information for daily triage discussions. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying relevant public health signals and effectively communicating findings to support decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review the EIOS EMRO Board daily to identify potentially relevant public health signals that may require attention.
• Prepare concise summaries of the retained signals and accurately record them in the designated tracking tool.
• Attend daily virtual triage meetings to document decisions made and follow-up actions required.
• Escalate urgent signals through the agreed communication channels to ensure timely responses.
• Maintain accurate and timely records throughout the assignment to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Deliver a complete and quality-checked log of screened signals, summaries, triage decisions, and follow-up actions submitted electronically at the end of the assignment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information effectively. They should be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records. Proficiency in using digital tools for tracking and documentation is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective participation in meetings and discussions.

Educational Background:
A degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or training in health informatics or data analysis will be considered favorably. A solid understanding of public health principles and practices is essential for this role.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in public health, epidemiology, or a related field. Experience with data analysis, health information systems, or similar roles will be advantageous. Familiarity with the EIOS platform or similar public health intelligence tools is a plus.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all documentation and communication will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of Arabic or French would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
