Job Overview:
The UNV office in Eritrea is seeking enthusiastic and creative Online Volunteers to support their digital outreach and communication efforts. This initiative is designed to increase the visibility of the valuable work being undertaken by the communication team and to strengthen the growth and uptake of the Online Volunteering service at the country level. The role of Online Volunteers is crucial in engaging a wider network of volunteers, raising public awareness, strengthening community engagement, and expanding the reach of the UNV programme in Eritrea. Volunteers will be involved in various digital outreach activities, which will include promoting content, creating engaging materials, and fostering community partnerships. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while gaining experience in digital communication and outreach.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have a good understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies. Creativity and the ability to develop engaging content are essential. Volunteers should be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Familiarity with graphic design tools and video editing software is a plus, as is experience in community engagement or outreach activities.
Educational Background:
A background in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with relevant experience and skills may also be considered. A passion for volunteerism and community engagement is essential for this role.
Experience:
While prior experience in digital outreach or communication is beneficial, it is not strictly required. The organization values enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, making this position suitable for individuals looking to gain experience in the field of digital communication and community engagement.
Languages:

- Content Promotion: Share and promote corporate and local content on various digital and social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Content Creation: Develop creative ideas and content, including posts, articles, graphics, and short videos, to engage diverse local audiences and raise awareness of key messages and stories relevant to Eritrea.
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with local organizations and communities to foster partnerships and increase the reach of campaigns.
- Event Support: Organize and participate in local online events, such as virtual discussions, webinars, and digital storytelling sessions.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and report on engagement metrics and feedback from outreach activities. Online Volunteers will report to the Regional Communication Assistant and will receive training, messaging guidelines, and visual assets to support them in their role.
