Job Overview:
The position of Mentor for Interns in Population and Development at UNFPA Burundi is designed to provide guidance and support to interns as they navigate their professional careers within the context of the United Nations system. The mentor will play a crucial role in helping interns familiarize themselves with the work of UNFPA, particularly in the areas of population and development. This includes understanding key themes such as demographic structure, demographic dependency, various methods of collecting sociodemographic data, climate change, demographic dividend, migration, urbanization, and demographic trends. The mentor will also assist in the establishment of an integrated database for monitoring the implementation of the 9th program, analyze data, and ensure the use of quality disaggregated and georeferenced data related to population, maternal health, family planning, adolescent health, and the prevention of gender-based violence. Additionally, the mentor will contribute to program monitoring, communication, and reporting, ensuring that the contributions are timely and of high quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The mentor's primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting interns in becoming familiar with UNFPA's work in Burundi, particularly in the field of Population and Development.
• Supporting the establishment of an integrated database for monitoring the implementation of the 9th program.
• Assisting in the analysis of data and ensuring the use of quality disaggregated and georeferenced data related to population, maternal health, family planning, adolescent health, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
• Providing contributions to program monitoring, communication, and results reporting.
• Conducting a documentary analysis of existing best practices in reproductive health, family planning, adolescent health, and gender-based violence.
• Ensuring timely and quality contributions to donor reports.
• Producing statistical analyses that link UNFPA's mandate with demographic dynamics.
• Collaborating with colleagues in the field of information and communication technology to produce and publish real-time data.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the mentor position should possess a strong understanding of population and development issues, particularly in the context of reproductive health and gender equality. They should have experience working in international organizations, preferably within the United Nations system. Strong analytical skills, particularly in data analysis and reporting, are essential. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams is also crucial. Educational Background:
