Job Overview:
The position of Mentor for Interns in Gender, Diversity and Inclusion at UNFPA Burundi is designed to provide guidance and support to interns as they navigate their professional careers within the UN system. The mentor will play a crucial role in familiarizing interns with the operations of UNFPA, particularly in the areas of gender, diversity, and inclusion. This role involves not only mentoring but also actively participating in various initiatives aimed at promoting awareness and prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) within targeted communities. The mentor will assist in data collection and analysis related to GBV cases, contribute to the preparation of monthly and narrative reports on humanitarian activities, and support resource mobilization efforts. Additionally, the mentor will help organize logistical and administrative aspects of workshops, training sessions, and campaigns, ensuring that interns gain practical experience and skills relevant to their future careers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The mentor's primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting interns in understanding the overall work of UNFPA Burundi, with a focus on gender, diversity, and inclusion.
• Supporting the team in organizing awareness and prevention activities related to GBV within targeted communities.
• Contributing to the collection, entry, and analysis of data concerning GBV cases and their referral processes.
• Participating in the preparation of monthly and narrative reports related to humanitarian and protection activities.
• Providing support for resource mobilization efforts.
• Assisting in the logistical and administrative preparation of activities such as workshops, training sessions, and campaigns.
• Attending team and cluster meetings related to protection/GBV, taking notes, and following up on recommendations.
• Participating in capacity-building workshops for staff and partners on humanitarian issues and combating gender-based violence.
• Offering support in other areas of intervention as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the mentor position should possess a strong understanding of gender issues, diversity, and inclusion, particularly in the context of humanitarian work. They should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A commitment to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of marginalized groups is essential. Educational Background:
