Job Overview:
The position of Mentor for Interns in Communication/Videography at UNFPA Burundi is designed to provide guidance and support to interns as they navigate their professional careers within the organization. The mentor will play a crucial role in helping interns familiarize themselves with UNFPA's work, particularly in the field of communication and videography. This includes understanding the institutional communication strategy of UNFPA and the effective use of multimedia platforms. The mentor will assist interns in developing their skills in audiovisual content creation, including video shooting, editing, and storytelling. The role is integral to the success of the internship program, which aims to enhance the professional skills of young individuals and prepare them for future careers in the field of communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The mentor's primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting interns in understanding the overall work of UNFPA Burundi, with a focus on communication and videography.
• Supporting the design, shooting (both video and photo), and editing of audiovisual content to highlight the agency's projects.
• Participating in the scripting and production of video capsules, interviews, and field reports.
• Contributing to the management and archiving of UNFPA's visual and audiovisual content database.
• Engaging in the creation of daily and interactive content tailored for social media platforms such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Assisting in the media coverage and audiovisual documentation of workshops, seminars, and commemorative events.
• Providing support in other multimedia intervention areas as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of communication strategies and multimedia content creation. They should be able to demonstrate creativity and technical skills in videography and photography. Additionally, candidates should have a willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic environment of UNFPA. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team are essential. Familiarity with social media platforms and their content requirements is also important.

Educational Background:
A background in communication, media studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant coursework or training in videography, photography, and digital content creation. A degree or ongoing studies in a related discipline will be advantageous.

Experience:
While prior experience in communication or multimedia production is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The position is open to interns who are eager to learn and develop their skills in a professional setting. Previous internships or volunteer work in similar fields will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within UNFPA Burundi. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be required for certain tasks and communications. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus.
