Duties and Responsibilities:
The mentor's primary responsibilities include: assisting interns in understanding the overall operations of UNFPA Burundi, particularly in communication and infographics; guiding interns in designing professional layouts for reports that adhere to UNFPA's graphic charter; supporting data visualization efforts by transforming complex tables into clear infographics, including cover maps and impact graphs; creating engaging content for social media platforms, such as factsheets and visual carousels summarizing key statistics; developing donor packages that enhance accountability and resource mobilization; producing multimedia advocacy materials, including digital banners, newsletters, and accountability infographics; formatting a capitalization booklet that documents best practices and lessons learned from the 9th program; creating a timeline that highlights historical milestones and systemic changes achieved; developing new templates for presentations and documents for the upcoming cycle; and assisting in the development and production of visual materials for advocacy and awareness activities.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the mentor position should possess a strong background in visual communication and infographics, with a proven ability to create engaging and informative visual content. They should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work collaboratively with interns from diverse backgrounds. A deep understanding of UNFPA's mission and objectives, as well as the ability to convey this information effectively to interns, is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for young professionals.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, communications, or a related field is required for this position. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas will be considered an asset. Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of professional experience in visual communication, graphic design, or a related field. Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Burundi. Proficiency in English is also highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with international stakeholders and resources.
