Job Overview:
The Rehabilitation Technical Officer position is crucial for overseeing the implementation of stimulation therapy activities aimed at malnourished children under five years of age. The role requires providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to established protocols by the project’s physiotherapists. The officer will lead initial training for rehabilitation professionals and provide ongoing mentorship, fostering a culture of child development stimulation among parents and caregivers. This position involves collaboration with nutritional actors and requires a proactive approach to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the stimulation therapy activities. The officer will also be responsible for adapting project documentation, developing therapy tools, and contributing to the regular reporting of activities, ensuring that the project meets its objectives and adheres to technical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and support to project leaders and specialists, ensuring stimulation therapy activities are implemented according to established protocols.
• Adapt project documentation as necessary to align with technical standards.
• Develop and ensure the availability of stimulation therapy tools.
• Contribute to the collection and analysis of data related to stimulation therapy activities.
• Coordinate with nutrition actors as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Ensure that global and field technical specialists receive necessary information and collaborate with technical divisions.
• Collect elements for capitalization exercises or scientific documentation.
• Contribute to technical learning based on best practices and lessons learned.
• Conduct self-evaluations and participate in evaluation cycles under the supervision of the Project Manager. 1
• Propose research topics and oversee data collection for research activities. 1
• Contribute to the outreach of HI’s technical expertise and represent HI in relevant networks. 1
• Write project content for continuity or expansion and contribute to new proposals. 1
• Support emergency preparedness actions and adapt work modalities during emergencies to ensure effective humanitarian response.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy and have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric or physical rehabilitation care. A strong knowledge of stimulation therapy approaches developed by HI, as well as national and international nutrition rehabilitation guidelines, is essential. Experience in a humanitarian organization is required, and familiarity with hospital and rehabilitation center settings is desirable. Candidates should also have experience in training trainers in childhood development stimulation, including stimulation therapy. Knowledge of English is mandatory, while Arabic is considered an asset. The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for conducting rehabilitation activities, particularly in pediatric care and stimulation therapy.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric or physical rehabilitation care. Experience working in a humanitarian organization is essential, and familiarity with hospital and rehabilitation center settings is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have experience in training trainers in childhood development stimulation, which is crucial for the role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is essential for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and for reporting purposes. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
The position is a 12-month international contract starting from November 1st, 202

• The contract includes social coverage adapted to the individual's situation, such as unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2345 € gross per month, depending on experience, with additional benefits including a per diem of 706 € net per month, hardship pay of 500 € net per month, and 25 days of paid leave per year. The position is unaccompanied, and travel costs for air tickets and visas will be covered, along with transport for personal effects after 12 months of service. For missions longer than 12 months, a child allowance of 100 € per month per child (from the second child) will be provided. Housing is collective and managed by HI.
