Job Overview:
The State Engagement Lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Program at WJCF will be responsible for driving the implementation of Type 1 Diabetes services across public health facilities in India. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the state's public health system, governance structures, and barriers to care. The State Engagement Lead will design and operationalize program interventions, support day-to-day operations, and engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure high-quality care delivery. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, be flexible, and have a commitment to excellence in public health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The State Engagement Lead will lead WJCF's Type 1 Diabetes program with state government stakeholders, ensuring alignment on ongoing interventions and new initiatives. Responsibilities include building trust-based relationships with senior officials in the Department of Health, supporting budgeting and planning for sustained access to essential drugs and diagnostics, developing program strategies in collaboration with the Associate Director, and overseeing day-to-day program implementation. The role also involves strengthening the capacity of health staff through training, representing WJCF in state-level forums, coordinating with development partners, identifying risks to implementation, and managing programmatic data to monitor progress.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any domain, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a results-oriented environment. They should demonstrate the ability to manage large projects and work with government stakeholders, particularly within the Indian public health system. Strong project management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and advanced proficiency in accountability tracking tools are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi are required, with a preference for candidates familiar with local languages.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in any relevant field is required for this position. The educational background should support the candidate's ability to engage with complex public health issues and manage programmatic activities effectively.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, particularly in managing large projects and engaging with government stakeholders. Experience within the Indian public health system is highly desirable, as is familiarity with project design and team management.
Languages:
