Job Overview:
The WFP Storekeeper G4 position is crucial for managing the receipt, dispatch, and verification of commodities within the warehouse. The role is designed to maximize the quality of warehouse operations while minimizing losses, ensuring compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines. The Storekeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of commodity movements, conducting daily inspections, and implementing best practices for storage management. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Storekeeper will be responsible for a variety of key accountabilities, including but not limited to:
  • Effectively receiving and dispatching commodities, ensuring accuracy in physical counts and compliance with established quality standards.
  • Preparing, verifying, and signing off on warehouse and transport documents, maintaining confidential files and accurate transaction records.
  • Conducting daily warehouse closing reconciliations and inventory checks to support internal control systems.
  • Performing daily inspections of commodities, preparing reports on quantity and quality, and investigating discrepancies or damages.
  • Implementing measures to safeguard commodities and ensure quality control in line with WFP procedures.
  • Monitoring warehouse conditions and taking actions to optimize space planning and organization of commodity storage.
  • Providing guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to enhance their skills and performance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completion of secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse and inventory management, which includes receiving, storing, dispatching, stock control, and warehouse documentation. Familiarity with SAP systems and quality assurance processes for food and non-food commodities is essential. Experience in managing warehouses, processing invoices, and utilizing logistics databases to generate routine reports is also required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

Educational Background:
